Hoquiam firefighters responded to a fire at a two-story home in west Hoquiam early this morning. Firefighters received the call about 6:30 and were on the scene minutes later.
They had the fire under control a short time after arriving, but smoke filled the home, which was near 3rd Street and O Street.
The fire seemed to be centered in an addition at the rear of the home.
Based on records associated with the address and statements from neighbors, the home is believed to be owned by Anthony Cemelich, a former Hoquiam firefighter and the 2011 Polson Museum Pioneer of the Year. One neighbor said he believed the occupants were out of town.
