First Street is going to be “significantly disrupted” for the next three weeks or so, Public Works Director Malcolm Bowie said at the Aberdeen City Council meeting Wednesday evening.
Starting at 7 a.m. today traffic on 1st Street between M Street and Broadway will be disrupted while major road grinding is done, he said after the meeting.
On Friday, the grinding will move east on 1st Street between Broadway and F Street.
The east-west street will then be repaved, block by block. Then the manholes and other infrastructure will also be repaired or replaced, he said. “Weather permitting,” the entire process should take about three weeks, Bowie said.
