Hoquiam businesses will stay open late tonight for this month’s First Thursday event. The event, which is hosted by the Hoquiam Business Association, is aimed at drawing Grays Harbor residents into Hoquiam for after-hours shopping.
Participating businesses will be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the event, offering in-store specials and local music.
“It’s a great way to encourage people to get into town and shop,” said Cassie Lentz of the Hoquiam Business Association. “A lot of people around here work all day, and it’s hard for small businesses to stay open late. So this gives them a chance to stop by once a month.”
First Thursdays occur on the first Thursday of every month. The program will run through September.
