Have you ever wondered what our local government does during emergency and/or disaster situations or the kind of events which could affect us? Do citizens have a role in disaster events?
On Thursday, May 2, from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Grays Harbor County Emergency Management will host a Free Emergency Management Public Forum in the library at Grays Harbor College.
Discussion will include the Boston Marathon bombings, Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, new inundation modeling for the Washington Coast for the Cascadia Earthquake and Tsunami risk, national and state planning for earthquake response throughout the State of Washington and the specific issues Grays Harbor County presents.
Information will be available on Family Preparedness Planning, Go Kits, long term emergency planning, flood insurance and emergency notifications. Refreshments will be available.
