Habitat announces new director, new store

Habitat for Humanity of Grays Harbor has undergone some changes recently, with a new executive director and a new store in Hoquiam.

Larry Burgher, the organization’s executive director, is a Grays Harbor native and has been involved with local non-profit organizations for several years, including the Copalis Crossing Firefighter Association. According to a Habitat for Humanity of Grays Harbor news release, Burgher plans to focus on neighborhood revitalization projects, which will help low-income homeowners with “patch and repair” projects.

“Larry has shown excellent leadership qualities in his time with the Habitat Board of Directors and we are excited that he will be leading this organization into the future. His passion for people and infectious enthusiasm are a great asset to our team,” said Debbi Ross, president of Habitat for Humanity of Grays Harbor’s Board of Directors.

The new Habitat for Humanity store, located at 3005 Simpson Ave. in Hoquiam, will celebrate its grand opening Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. To learn more about the organization, to make a donation or to sign up to volunteer, visit www.graysharborhabitat.com.
