Harbor Paper in Hoquiam will reopen soon, company officials said today.
The paper mill stopped production Feb. 25, saying it was making a “wholesale management change” at the mill.
“As Benjamin Franklin so aptly stated, ‘out of adversity comes opportunity,’ ” said Harbor Paper’s new president, Joe Scolari. “Over the last week, we have seized many opportunities by reaching out to our strategic partners and the Grays Harbor community. We want to extend our gratitude to our employees, partners, and community for their resourcefulness and support.”
According to a source, Joe Scolari is the son of Cesar Scolari, the primary investor in Elliott Rust Companies, the company that owns Harbor Paper.
A brief news release from the company this morning said a short shutdown of the mill’s powerhouse is planned Thursday for maintenance and shortly thereafter production will resume.
