Hoquiam Police officers arrested a 53-year-old man for allegedly hitting his adult stepson several times in the head with a handgun during an argument, law enforcement authorities said Monday.

The incident happened on Sunday, shortly after midnight, at a home on the 2000 block of Broadway Ave. Officers arrived and found a 29-year-old man who had blood on his head, face and hands. The man said he had been in an argument with his 53-year-old stepfather and the argument turned physical, police said. Sometime during the disagreement, the stepfather went into his room and got a handgun, the younger man told police.
