The Hoquiam Police Department is warning residents to be on the lookout in the wake of several recent vehicle prowls.
Five of the six recent incidents occurred on the west side of the city, the department reported. Cases have been reported at 70 O Street, the 400 block and the 500 block of Eklund Avenue, the 800 block of 3rd Street, the 900 block of Spruce Street and the 2300 block of Pacific Avenue.
“We’re asking residents to make sure they lock their doors, do not leave valuables in the car and immediately report suspicious persons or activity,” Chief Jeff Myers wrote in a press release.
Items taken so far include two firearms, stereo equipment and a GPS system. Crime Watch volunteers will posted fliers on parked cars in the impacted areas Friday.
