A Seattle-based production company is calling on locals to audition this weekend for a film they will shoot in Aberdeen and Hoquiam.
Independent Spirit Films will shoot a neo-noir thriller, currently titled “Grayport”, beginning in October. The film will follow a “dogged, 60-something-year-old journalist haunted by past regrets as he investigates a murder mystery,” according to the film’s writer/director, who said she is known as “Aria.”
Aria, who has a summer home in the area, said she chose the location because she felt it was an area that had not received enough attention film-wise.
She said she hopes to bring opportunity to the locals in the area who may not have the chance to audition for films at far away locations.
Auditions for four male parts spanning ages 25-70 — including a journalist, mayor, “good cop” and a “homeless man”— will be held this Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-5 p.m. at 310 N. Alder St. in Aberdeen.
For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Aria at (425) 941-8149, or the producer, Andrew LaFountain at (541) 979-6371.
