K-9 helps catch would-be burglar

The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 officer helped Elma Police nab a trespasser Monday night. The 19-year-old homeless Elma man was arrested for second-degree burglary.

At about 11:50 p.m. Monday, Elma Police were called to a home on Sherry Place when the 86-year-old resident reported a trespasser. She saw a man going through her property in her garage and told police she recognized him as a former neighbor.

The K-9 officer tracked the man to a residence in the 1500 block of West Anderson Street, where he was arrested without incident.
