A 55-year-old man is accused of sending sexually explicit text messages to a 14-year-old girl after working as a handyman at her family’s Hoquiam rental house.
Tony A. Nesgoda pleaded not guilty Monday in Grays Harbor Superior Court to a charge of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. According to court documents, Nesgoda had served as a handyman for the landlords at a rental home where the girl and her family lived until the family moved out of state.
The girl had apparently maintained contact with Nesgoda’s girlfriend, court documents stated, but at some point Nesgoda is accused of sending text messages about sex acts to the girl. A detective began communicating with Nesgoda using the girl’s phone in July, and other messages were also recovered.
In an interview with a Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s detective, Nesgoda “was cooperative … and expressed that he realized what he had done was wrong,” court documents stated.
Nesgoda has no other criminal history, and is not in custody.
