A 20-year-old Aberdeen man pleaded not guilty Monday in Grays Harbor Superior Court in three vehicular assault charges from an incident last year.
David J. Cole is accused of vehicular assault against his three passengers after he missed a turn on Wynooche-Wishkah Road April 1, 2012, and his car went tumbling over an embankment, falling roughly 100 feet.
His passengers initially walked away from the wreck, but were later found to have internal injuries. A 22-year-old Aberdeen woman suffered a broken nose, collapsed lung, a kidney laceration, three fractured ribs and a fractured shoulder, her 19-year-old brother had a broken arm and a 21-year-old Montesano woman had fractures in her skull and spine and a liver laceration.
Prosecutor Jason Walker said charges were just coming in the case because of delays in the investigation and difficulty contacting the victims.
