OCEAN SHORES — A 44-year old Ocean Shores man was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary after he was caught fleeing from a residence in the 100 block of Chance ala Mer Tuesday morning, according to Ocean Shores Police.
About 9:30 a.m., Ocean Shores officers got a call that a burglary was in progress when a witness saw a man trying to break out a window at the home of a 95-year-old woman, police say.
Officers arrived within a minute, looked through the broken window and saw the suspect inside the home. When he say the officers, the suspect fled out the front door, police said, running past the elderly resident who was watching television in the front room and is extremely hard of hearing.
The resident did not know the suspect was even in the residence. Officers caught up to the suspect and took him into custody nearby. Money taken from the residence was allegedly found on the suspect, who was booked in to Grays Harbor County Jail.
