A Pacific County pedestrian was killed Sunday after a truck struck him on State Route 103, state police officials said Monday.
Police say that a man driving a 2003 maroon GMC K1500 pickup truck southbound on State Route 103, saw Ray Berreth, 54, of Seaview, standing in the middle of the southbound lane of the roadway, eight miles north of Long Beach.
The 65-year-old driver did not see Berreth, according to police, and struck him. It is unknown why Berreth was standing in the middle of the roadway. It is also unknown if alcohol was involved. Police say Berreth died at the scene of the accident.
