Plants, fixtures stolen from parks

Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Director Karl Harris told the City Council Wednesday night that thefts have resumed in parks. Items purloined include bath fixtures, planters and even flowering plants themselves. He said if the public sees someone stealing they should “tell them not to do it.”

In a light moment later at the full City Council meeting, a citizen who identified himself as “Luke” said as a volunteer planter for his church, he planned to plant vegetables so if they were stolen at least people could eat them.
