Wrong-way driver crashes near Elma
A 28-year-old Aberdeen man suffered head injuries Tuesday evening when he crashed the car he was driving the wrong way on State Route 12 about four miles east of Elma.
The State Patrol reported the man was driving a 1995 Honda Odyssey westbound in the eastbound lane for about a quarter mile when he overcorrected and crashed at about 5 p.m.
A State Patrol report said troopers believe that drugs or alcohol was involved and the accident is still under investigation for possible charges against the driver.
He was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, where he was treated and released. The car was reported as a total loss.
Suspect sought in alleged stabbing
Ocean Shores police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing that occurred about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at a trailer residence in the 500 block of Duck Lake Driver NE.
When officers arrived after being called to the location by the property owner, they found a 31-year-old Ocean Shores man with a laceration on his throat.
The victim indicated a man knocked on his trailer door and when he opened it the suspect sprayed a chemical in his face and cut his throat, a police report said.
The suspect then fled and the victim went into a home on the same lot and the owner contacted police while helping to stop the bleeding. The victim was able to identify his attacker as an acquaintance and then was transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital.
He was later flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he is listed in stable condition. The attacker currently is not in custody and the investigation is continuing, police said.
