Police seek thieves who used cars to pull wire

The Aberdeen Police Department is looking for help locating people whom they believe used vehicles to rip copper wire out of equipment in the settling pond area near the Bishop Athletic Complex Wednesday

At about 5:40 a.m., Aberdeen police were advised that people were coming out of the pond area. They found two unoccupied vehicles inside the gated area, and evidence the vehicles had been used to pull the wiring from equipment on the ponds belonging to Cosmo Specialty Fibers in Cosmopolis.

Repair costs are estimated in the tens of thousands of dollars. Anyone with information or who may have been passing the settling pond area is asked to call the Aberdeen Police Department at 533-3180 or the tip line at 538-4450.
