The Ocean Shores Fire Department responded to a fire at a portable toilet placed next to the city kennel, fire officials said Tuesday.
The fire started in the portable toilet sometime before 1 p.m. on Sunday, officials from the Ocean Shores Fire Department said. The shelter has no address, but sits on a lot on the city-owned golf course. When firefighters arrived, the toilets were fully involved.
No firefighters or animals were injured, but siding located on one wall of the shelter was melted from the heat. A cause has yet to be determined, but investigators suspect “human involvement” may be the cause of the fire.
