Rain and wind possible tonight, minor flooding to follow

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement today indicating rain and windy conditions tonight and Tuesday in Grays Harbor County.

Forecasters predict sustained winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of up to 50 mph along the coast. Grays Harbor County Emergency Management warns all residents to prepare for possible power outages due to downed trees and power lines.

The Weather Service has also issued a flood watch for the Chehalis River. The river is expected to reach flood stage of 21 feet at 10 a.m. Tuesday and then crest at 4 a.m. Wednesday at 21.19 feet. It will then recede below flood stage by 10 p.m. Wednesday. Flooding is expected to be minor. No other rivers are expected to flood during this event.
