Dr. Sharon Wallace, a consumer health information advocate who studies “genetically modified organisms” — known as GMO’s — in food, will make a presentation on the subject at 7 p.m., on Feb. 15th, at the Aberdeen High School Community Room.
The lecture is free and is sponsored by The Grays Harbor Institute.
Wallace is a member of the Institute for Responsible Technology, which educates policy makers and the public about genetically modified foods and crops.
She says that while investigating why health conscious people were becoming sick she began to realize that the food supply was a contributing factor.
Wallace is a professor of nursing at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland and has presented at local, national, and international conferences on information technology and health care.
