Hoquiam police arrested an Aberdeen man for allegedly breaking into a home and robbing the residents inside with a pistol, officials said Wednesday.
The robbery happened Tuesday at 3:40 p.m. at the 2400 block of Simpson Ave. Police say the 28-year-old man, who knew his victims, went in to the house and then took out a small handgun to rob the people inside. He allegedly assaulted one of the people in the house, but the victim only suffered minor injuries. Police said the target of the robbery was money and drugs, but the robber was unable to get either.
After an investigation, the Aberdeen man was arrested for robbery and on an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license. He remained Wednesday morning in the Grays Harbor County Jail awaiting a hearing.
Police searched the area around the robbery extensively to find a weapon, but could not. If anyone finds any evidence associated with the incident or has further information, they are asked to contact the Detective Sgt. Shane Krohn or Detective David Blundred at (360) 532-0892.
