Saginaw Logger’s Day set for Sept. 15 in Brooklyn

The 13th Annual Saginaw Logger’s Day Show and Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, next to the Brooklyn Tavern in Brooklyn.

This event showcases local working loggers and was originated to honor the men and women who participated in the colorful history of the many Western Washington logging companies.

The competition is restricted to non-professional log show contestants, and will include events such as log rolling, log falling, tree topping, tree climbing, coil making, choker setting and axe throwing. Fun events for women will include a rolling pin throwing competition, children will have an opportunity to search for money and candy in a “Hay Hunt” and an assortment of arts, crafts and food will be available for purchase.

All parking is free. Handicapped parking is available on site, while general parking is available nearby, with a shuttle van available.

Volunteers are needed in many different areas. Competitor sign-ups are $10 for all events, and will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Vendor space is available for $30 per space.
