A semi-truck on its way to the Weyerhaeuser mill in Raymond caught fire and blocked Highway 101 on Friday, according to the Raymond Fire Department.
Chief Todd Strozyk said the highway was blocked for about 20 minutes after firefighters responded at 10:30 a.m. Friday. He said the driver heard a bang as he was driving and pulled off the road. When he got out, he saw flames shooting out from underneath the tractor, and his fire extinguisher didn’t help.
No one was injured, although the tractor is a total loss, estimated at about $25,000, Strozyk said.
