Emergency personnel and city workers gathered in staging areas to practice how to respond to an earthquake for the The Great Shakeout, an international earthquake preparation drill. Charles Wallace, deputy director for the Grays Harbor County Department of Emergency Management, said the exercise was a great success countywide, and showed areas where things could be improved, “We do this exercise because everybody finds out something we could do better.” The drills are scheduled to take place again next year.
