A sign for North Beach

Taylor Giron, Aberdeen High School class of 2012 and Cory Martinsen, a woodworking and sign making teacher at Aberdeen High School, pose in front of a sign the two made for North Beach Senior and Junior High School in Ocean Shores. Giron, under the instruction of Martinsen, took on the project after an architect for the North Beach school approached Martinsen with an idea to build the sign. The wooden sign, which is some 20 feet long, took about three months to design and build. “It was a lot of fun to work on,” Giron said. “It was something to do with my summer.”
