A 73-year-old surf fisherman from Lynnwood died Sunday afternoon after he disappeared into the water north of the Ocean City beach approach and could not be revived through CPR efforts after being pulled from the surf.
The response just after noon included state Parks staff, state Fish and Wildlife, the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, Grays Harbor Fire District No. 7, the State Patrol and Ocean Shores Fire Department paramedics, who transported the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead after continued CPR in the emergency room was unsuccessful.
He was identified as Se Rok An of Lynnwood. Authorities said he and his wife were visiting the area to dig razor clams and fish for the day. He had been wearing waders and authorities believe he might have been caught in a riptide and had trouble getting back on his feet as the waders filled with water.
