Three-time sex offender back in the community

The Aberdeen Police Department has notified the public that a Level 3 sex offender classified as being a “high risk to re-offend” has been released from custody and has moved into an apartment in the 100 block of East First Street.

William R. White, 35, has been convicted three times of sex crimes involving children on Grays Harbor.

White was convicted in 1990 for first-degree child molestation, and then in 1994 for first-degree rape of a child, and in 1999 for third-degree child molestation.

Under state law, law enforcement agencies are authorized to inform the public of the release from prison of a sex offender or kidnapping offender in an effort to enhance public safety. Those offenders must register with local law enforcement where they are living.
