Two coffee stands robbed

Two coffee stands were robbed Saturday, one in Hoquiam the other in Aberdeen.

At about 7:30 a.m., a man approached Grizz Coffee Stand on Simpson Avenue in Hoquiam, drew a handgun and demanded money. The employee was able to hide in a back room of the stand until the man left. No money was taken.

The man is described as a thin white male, 25-30 years old, and about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a dark hoodie. Police are waiting on additional surveillance footage for a more detailed description. Anyone with information should call the Hoquiam Police at 532-0892, ext. 109.

At about 1:50 p.m. in Aberdeen, an “unknown person” displayed a weapon and demanded money from an employee at Huckle Bearies Espresso Stand, according to Aberdeen police. The suspect in that incident left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Anyone with information on that case should call the Aberdeen Police at 533-3180.
