A Montesano man and a Westport woman pleaded not guilty Monday on charges related to a burglary at an Elma home earlier this month.
Matthew E. Smith, 31, and Suzy Rin, 25, are charged with second-degree possession of stolen property relating to a burglary reported Jan. 4. Residents reported their home on the 100 block of Meadowwood Drive had been burglarized and numerous items had been taken, including sporting goods, electronics and frozen food.
Bryan Best, 25, of Westport, is charged with residential burglary in the case and pleaded not guilty on Jan. 8.
The three were found the morning of Jan. 5 in a truck containing items identified as being taken during the burglary after police received a call about a suspicious vehicle on Devonshire Road.
Smith is held in Grays Harbor County Jail on $25,000 bail, and Rin is held on $15,000. Best was released into the custody of his father and permitted to leave home only for work.
