Victim of head-on fatality identified


An Aberdeen man who was killed in an automobile crash earlier this week has been identified.

Lucio R. Stanton, 19, was killed in a car accident on Highway 12 on the Mox Chehalis Bridge, near Oakville. The wreck happened at 11:20 p.m. when a 1994 Plymoth Accent Stanton was riding in was traveling eastbound and crossed the center line, striking a 2003 Ford Ranger head-on, according to the State Police.

According to police, Stanton died at the scene. The 37-year-old Puyallup woman driving the car was being held on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence, according to police.

The 75-year-old Aberdeen man driving the Ford Ranger, and his 71-year-old female passenger, were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The Puyallup driver was also taken to a hospital.
