The Aberdeen Fire Department issued a public warning Friday after a child fell from an open window on the second floor of an apartment building in the 1100 block of Arthur Street.
The 4-year-old boy was hospitalized at Grays Harbor Community Hospital after falling from the window about 11:20 a.m., said Aberdeen Fire Capt. Troy Palmer. His condition is unknown.
The sliding window appeared to have a screen on it, but it appeared to have been knocked off when the child fell, Palmer said.
The department warned that during periods of warm weather “it is imperative that all windows of homes with children are properly secured so that a child cannot it through the opening.”
