A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday by the Westport Police Department in connection with the alleged rape of two teenage girls younger than the age of consent.
Police said that the man had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl sometime during the summer of 2011. The incident was reported last July, to the Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office, who issued a warrant for his arrest. Police also said the man is suspected of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl sometime over the summer of 2012. According to police, the man fled from Washington as soon as he became aware of the second set of charges. Officers were tracking the man down when they learned he had returned to Westport.
The man has been charged with one count of second degree rape of a child and one count of third degree rape of a child.
