First-graders Ryan Garcia Valencia, left, and Gavin Studdard compete at the Battlestack station during Thursday’s Stack Up! event at Keene-Riverview Elementary School in Prosser. Teacher Kathy Esparza organized the school’s 500 students to participate in the record-setting attempt. The goal was to have 450,000 stackers worldwide participate for 30 minutes during the day. The record of 412,259 was set last year.
