Workers from the City of Hoquiam and Rognlin’s Inc. prepare a section of street for new asphalt after working all night to repair a broken water main at the intersection of 7th Street and Simpson Avenue in Hoquiam on Friday. Traffic was diverted around downtown Hoquiam for the duration as workers repaired the 10-inch pipe. The rupture occurred Thursday afternoon and caused a part of 7th Street to buckle from pressure from the escaping water. The Department of Transportation said the lanes were re-opened as of 3:30 p.m., Friday.
