Michael Symon, co-host of ABC TV’s daytime talk show “The Chew,” will serve as celebrity chef for the 2013 Saint Martin’s University Gala on Nov. 2.
The annual black-tie affair raises money for student scholarships. Past celebrity chefs for the event have included Guy Fieri, host of the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” and Seattle-born chef Mario Batali, who specializes in Italian cuisine.
Symon is an award-winning chef who has won acclaim for his Midwestern restaurants, including Lola, which was named one of “America’s Best Restaurants” by Gourmet magazine in 2000. He also won the Food Network’s first season of “The Next Iron Chef” in 2008.
Last year’s Gala, which featured Fieri, raised more than $700,000.
Tickets for this year’s event will be available to the general public May 1. For more information, call 360-486-8885.
