A fire official in Snohomish County says two people have been rescued after getting stuck in the rising water of rain-swollen Pilchuck Creek.
Battalion Chief Greg Osborne of the North County Regional Fire Authority tells the Daily Herald that a teenage boy found himself in trouble when his all-terrain vehicle got surrounded by water late Monday afternoon north of Arlington.
A relative tried to rescue the boy with a tractor but the tractor got stuck too. That’s when someone called for help.
Rescuers in a hovercraft brought the two to safety.
Osborne says they did the smart thing in staying with their vehicles.
