PORT ORCHARD — A manager of a Domino’s Pizza in Port Orchard stopped an apparent armed robbery attempt Wednesday night and held the suspect until Kitsap County Sherifff’s Office deputies arrived.
The suspect, 25-year-old Andrew James Cox of Port Orchard, was charged Thursday in Kitsap County District Court with first-degree robbery.
He is accused of walking into the pizzaria at Jackson and Lund avenues just before 9 p.m., dressed in black and wearing a ski mask over his face. He raised his shirt to reveal what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband and demanded money, according to court documents. He told the employees they weren’t going fast enough and started a countdown.
According to the charging documents, “the manager grabbed the gun and ripped it from the suspect’s hand and pulled him across the counter.”
The manager then pinned on the floor while a coworker called 911.
