First Boeing 787 made in SC delivered to Air India

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Air India has taken delivery of the first 787 assembled at Boeing’s new South Carolina assembly plant.

The airline took delivery at the North Charleston plant today. The jet is expected to fly out of the Charleston International Airport on Saturday.

Boeing South Carolina general manager Jack Jones says it’s a tribute to company workers, customers, suppliers and the state that the first plane was delivered within three years of breaking ground.
