Wildfires make Chelan air unhealthy

WENATCHEE — Wildfires burning around the region have caused air quality to deteriorate.

The Chelan-Douglas Health District said the air quality in Chelan today is considered unhealthy, and the air in Wenatchee and Leavenworth is moderate.

All people are advised to avoid outdoor activity, stay indoors with windows and doors closed and avoid excessive exertion in the Chelan area.

In areas of moderate air quality, people with pre-existing heart and lung conditions, such as asthma and emphysema, the eldery and children stay indoors.
