A Winlock man called police Tuesday evening to report that a female friend had stolen his truck and left free-range chickens roaming inside his house.
The 39-year-old victim told police that a 22-year-old woman took his truck sometime in the past two days from the 100 block of Meyer Road East, said Chief Deputy Stacy Brown, spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office. The man had been out of town, and when he returned late Tuesday, he realized his 2001 Ford F2 pickup truck, valued at $12,000, was gone.
He also found several free-range chickens roaming in his house. They were believed to have been left behind by the woman who allegedly stole his truck, Brown said. The case is still under investigation.
