Tornow re-enactment Sunday

The planned re-enactment of the John Tornow story has been rescheduled to Sunday.

“Saturday looks really bad for weather,” said Mark Woytowich, a videographer from Shelton. “Sunday looks a lot better. We expect to start about 11 a.m.” Woytowich will produce a video for a web page and YouTube.

The memorial to the legend of Tornow, the Wildman of the Wynooche, that will honor the six victims he allegedly killed from 1911 to 1913, will be unveiled on April 20. Visitors will gather at the Montesano High School parking lot at 12:30 and caravan to the site, about 27 miles north of Montesano.

The Tornow committee is looking for anyone with period apparel who would like to participate in the re-enactment to call Dana Anderson at (360) 229-1680 for directions to the site or if the event will be canceled on Sunday as well.
