Alecia Field, of Hoquiam, passed away on April 21, 2013, at the age of 77 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born on September 29, 1935, to Helen C. Peterson and Chas Organ in Raymond, Washington. She was raised in Hoquiam by her grandparents, Don and Oda Eddy and attended school there as well as Western Washington University in Bellingham where she received a degree in English. During her life she resided in Everett and Tacoma, as well as in Germany.
Alecia worked as a bartender for the Hoquiam Eagles, VFW, Elks and Gambur’s Restaraunt, also in Hoquiam. She was a member of the Hoquiam VFW, Eagles, PTA, the YMCA and the Young Mother’s Club. She enjoyed camping, reading, her dog “Billie”, her grandchildren and anything to do with children. She was president of McKinley PTA in Tacoma as well as being the official Easter Bunny in the Tacoma Daffodil Parade for many years.
She married Marshall Field in August 1955, they later devorced.
Alecia is survived by her son, Tony Field of Hoquiam; her daughters, Tracy Warren of Shelton and Marcy Field of Hoquiam; brothers, David Tevis of Maudlin, South Carolina; grandchildren, Stephen Warren, James (Sheila) Field, Michael (Virginia) Field, Jason (Selena) Lowery, Richard Field and Aaron Field; great-grandchildren, Logan, Morgan, Madison, Michael Jr., Caitlynn, Timothy, Hadley and Harper; and a niece, Vicki Burnett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Peterson; son, Timothy Field; her sisters, Donette Glaser and Darlene Burnett; and grandson, Marty Field.
There will be a family gathering at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Hoquiam VFW with inurnment at Hoquiam Sunset Park.
