Alicia Martha Wright Grannis of Aberdeen passed away at Grays Harbor Community Hospital on Thursday July 18, 2013. She was 74. Alicia was born January 28, 1939 in Aberdeen, Washington to William and Alyce (Gorny) Wright. Alicia grew up in Aberdeen and attended Aberdeen High School. She had spent most of her life here. She had also lived in Hayward, Calif., Gold Hill, Ore. and Kettle Falls, Wash.
Alicia had worked for many years as a cocktail waitress and cashier at local businesses- The Mint, The Spar and The Smoke Shop. She worked with the Lady Washington project; she helped clean birds after the Valdez oil spill in Alaska and she also belonged to a ladies group here is Grays Harbor that did community service.
Alicia loved sewing, quilting, crafts, genealogy, plants and flowers.
Alicia is survived by her granddaughter, Jazmyne Kozak of Aberdeen; brother, Edmund Thomas Wright of San Diego, Calif., and sister, Rene Bottelson-Webb of Gold Hill, Ore.
Alicia was preceded in death by her mother, Alyce Wright Bottelson; son, Roy Grannis; and daughter, Toni Kozak.
