Allan R. Carney, 72, died on July 29, 2012. He was born in Aberdeen on November 11, 1939, to Leonard and Dorothy Carney. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1957, and joined the Marine Corp at that time.
He attended Grays Harbor College and graduated in 1961. He finished his study of chemical engineering at the University of Washington in 1964.
He was employed for 35 years by Weyerhaeuser Company and worked in Washington, North Carolina, Mississippi and Georgia during his career. Allan received Weyerhausers Presidents Award for his contribution to the company.
Allan was proceeded in death by his parents; and his sister, Judith. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alyce (Eldred) Carney; 2 daughters, Kathleen Taylor of Olympia, Wash. and Laurie Kester of Orting, Wash.; and 1 son, Steven Carney of Centralia, Wash.; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; 2 brothers, Leonard andClarence (Dick) Carney of Aberdeen, Wash.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a celebration of life held at Borst Park in Centralia, Wash. Kitchen 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012. All family and friends are invited.
