Angela Gayle Boyer, 48 years of age, died on Friday, December 21, 2012, in rural Hoquiam, Washington. She was born October 1, 1964, in Aberdeen, to Martha P. Hudson “Waddie” Boyer and Delbert Lee Boyer, Sr. She was an enrolled member of the Quinault Indian Nation.
Angela was raised in Taholah and there she attended her first eight years of education. She then attended and graduated, in 1983, from the North Beach High School at Moclips. While in school she played basketball and volleyball.
Angela Gayle Boyer was married to Timothy Schmidt, Sr. in 1983 in Taholah. They were later divorced.
She had resided in Taholah, Montana, Eastern Washington and Aberdeen. She had participated in the Youth Opportunity Program, worked as a cook in Montana, been a millwright at the Crain Creek Mill north of Amanda Park and was also a fishing guide. She had traveled to England as part of a Lion’s Club Youth Exchange Group.
Angela enjoyed fishing, hunting, clam digging, spending time with her grandchildren and was an animal lover.
Angela is survived by her children, Misty Schmidt and Vanessa Schmidt of Taholah, Timothy Schmidt, Jr. of Spokane and Letty Carcaise of Aberdeen; nine grandchildren; six brothers, Richard Obi of the Wishkah Valley, Ervin Obi of Taholah, Dave Obi of Taholah, Milton Obi of Copalis Crossing, Ole Obi of Taholah, Delbert Boyer, Jr. of Moclips; three sisters, Rosa Dawn Martin of Taholah, Letty Potter of Pacific Beach and Wilma Hudson of Taholah; her companion, Ron Curcaise and two additional sons David McCrory and Jason McCrory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Waddie Boyer; two brothers, Augustine Dominick and Max Hudson and a sister, Elizabeth Ann Boyer.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., on Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Coleman Mortuary Chapel in Hoquiam.
