Arthur Alonzo Ramsey, 80, former HVAC Engineer for the State of Washington Capital Campus and former resident of Central Park, Washington, died on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Arthur was born on August 21, 1932, in Tenino, Washington, to Melborne Henry and Lula Bell (Case) Ramsey. He graduated from Tenino High School. He joined the Air Force and upon his Honorable Discharge returned to the Olympia area and went to work for the State of Washington as an HVAC Engineer from 1962 until his retirement in the early 90’s.
Arthur had moved from the Olympia area to Central Park 35 years ago and then to Aberdeen 2 years ago.
Arthur married Opal (Grunow) Bagnell in Reno, Nev. on May 1, 1994. She passed away on December 23, 2008. Arthur had previously been married to Darlene J. Davis in 1954, she passed in 1976.
He loved traveling and especially enjoyed Hawaii.
Arthur is survived by 2 sons, Raymond and wife, Anna, Ramsey of Aberdeen, and James Ramsey of Westport; a daughter, Kathy Frazer of Aberdeen; stepson, Gordon Bagnell of Summit Lake and a stepdaughters, Georgia Bagnell and Sue Bagnell; seven grandchildren, Bryce, Aaron, Jennifer, Michael, Kimberly, Cory and Kraig; and ten great-grandchildren. Arthur was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil H. Ramsey and Melvin H. Ramsey; and a stepdaughter, Patti Bagnell.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at the Polish Club in Aberdeen.
