Barbara Ann Danielson, 71, a resident of Westport, died on Monday, December 17, 2012, at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia.
Barbara was born on June 23, 1941, in Bloomington, California to Frank and Wilma (Harms) Readman. She grew up on the family farm outside Santa Barbara, Calif. In 1961, Barbara married James Raymond Danielson whom was in the Army. They moved to Arizona for a while before moving back to California. In 1966, after just five years of marriage, James died from an accident.
Barbara later moved to North Bend, Wash. and then Hoquiam in 1976. A year later she moved to Iowa and then to Westport in 1986.
Barbara worked many jobs during her life including that of a housekeeper for Harbor Health Care in Aberdeen. She was a member of the 700 Club and enjoyed watching Christian Cable Ministries on channel 20. Barbara was an avid reader, liked to paint and making clothes from patterns she designed. She even made her brother’s wife-to-be’s wedding dress. She loved being with her grandkids.
Barbara is survived by three sons, James Danielson of Mesa, Ariz., Danny Ray and wife, Jamie Danielson of Council Bluff, Iowa and Richard Danielson of Texas; a daughter, Kimberlie Danielson of Westport, Wash.; seven grandkids and five great-grandkids. Barbara was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Westport.
