After a long life filled with great stories and the love of her family Betty Leone West died at the age of 88 on January 15, 2013.
Betty was born in Aberdeen, Washington, on April 9, 1924, to Albert and Ruth Kitty (Grindrod) Wilder. She worked at the family restaurant, and as a riveter during World War II. In 1945, Betty married Harold W. West and welcomed their son, Lawrence, in 1955. They had almost 40 years together; she supported Hal through college, career moves, and his battle with cancer.
She was the family genealogist and also enjoyed gardening, playing her piano, reading, and crochet.
Betty was ready to start the next part of her journey and there is no doubt that Hal was waiting for her- probably asking what took her so long. She is survived by her son, Larry (Shannon) and granddaughter, Kyra West.
