Bonnie Ann Heintz Kindle passed away in the peace of her home, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. She was born June 29, 1952, at De Roos Maternity Home in South Bend, Washington to John and Velma (Baldwin) Heintz.
Bonnie was quiet, dignified, and always appropriate. She faced her cancer and dying with the same grace that she lived. Though she didn’t stand out in a crowd, she stood out among her family and those who knew her. Among her professional peers she was always recognized for her sense of style.
While attending Raymond High School, she worked her lunch breaks in her parent’s grocery located on Duryea St. She graduated high school in 1970. Her dad had always encouraged her to learn to type because in his words “you will always be able to get a job”. After high school she enrolled at Grays Harbor College and obtained an AA degree in Secretarial Science. In June, 1975, she went to work in the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office. She became Court Administrator in Montesano in 1994, retiring in August of this year….a 37-year career.
Bonnie had a lot of passions and was not afraid to try new things….she never failed to amaze her son when she would zip line on vacation or buy jet skis when she was 58. She loved her friends: Jenny, Joan, Rita, Karen and Sharon. She loved the beach and sun, especially beach get-a-ways with her friends. Her favorite web site was Vacation Rentals By Owner. She loved the Montesano Courthouse and those she worked with. She loved decorating for holidays…..candles at Christmas and bunnies at Easter. Her tablescapes and holiday meals would make Martha Stewart proud. She loved what she referred to as her empty nest hobbies of quilting and her gorgeous flower garden. She also loved: her Abby cats, books, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Savory Faire Restaurant, cheesecake, and picking blackberries. But most of all, she loved the vacations to Florida, Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and New Orleans with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Larry Westmoreland, of the family home; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Shandi Kindle; and grandchildren, Devon and Lone all of Montesano; brothers, Lenus (Nancy) Heintz of Seattle, and Duane (Kyla) of Redding, California. She is also survived by multiple nephews and nieces; her ex-husband, Mike Kindle; and ex-mother-in-law, Joanne Kindle. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gerald (Jot) Heintz.
Graveside Services will be at Fern Hill in Menlo at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012. A reception will follow at American Legion in Raymond.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stollers Mortuary of Raymond, Washington.
