Bonnie Magdalene Buchanan, 80, a longtime resident of the Harbor, passed away at Pacific Care Center on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Bonnie was one of eleven children. She was born on April 23, 1932, in Jackson County, North Carolina to Willis and Delcie (Mashburn) Green.
On December 24, 1948, Bonnie married Roy Glen Buchanan in South Carolina. During the early 50’s, they made their home in West Virginia, moving to Washington in 1960. Her travels included many trips to the east coast and visits to Alaska.
Her loves were her grandchildren and working in her beautiful flower garden.
She was a member of Church Alive at Copalis Crossing.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Glen; three daughters, Jean Carnes of Arlington, Washington, Anita Buchanan of Tacoma, Washington and Pamela Lott of Homer, Alaska; three sisters, Louise Oakes of Hawaii, Dot Bruner of Roseburg, Oregon and Shirlee Skinner of Aberdeen, Washington; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Scherrie Bradley and seven siblings, Nannie Belle Green, Lloyd Green, Beatrice, Gladys Bradley, Earl Green, Ben Green and Lorena Carrigan died previously.
Cremation arrangements are by the Coleman Mortuary in Hoquiam.
